About us — who we are, why we were founded, and who we are here for
We opened a small center.
MediRad was established in 2021 with a very specific ambition — to bring to Slovakia top-tier musculoskeletal radiology, previously known only to patients abroad. We started in a single clinic at Teslova 33 and from day one, we focused on close cooperation with sports clubs and federations. A top athlete needs the same thing as any other patient — just faster. Rapid diagnostics, a clear answer, and a return to training without weeks of uncertainty.
This approach has stayed with us for five years and hundreds of athletes we have helped return to the game through our clinics. Today, we see top representatives — the Slovak Football Association, Slovan Bratislava, FC Spartak Trnava, BK Inter Bratislava, the Slovak Volleyball and Handball Federation, the National Sports Center, SND ballet — as well as patients who never imagined they would first hear about us through sports radiology. A mother with a child after a bicycle fall. A dancer with a torn Achilles tendon. A fifty-year-old who returned to tennis after twenty years of sedentary work — and his shoulder lets him know about it.
Our team
Under the leadership of MUDr. Vladimír Neuschl, PhD., co-founder of MediRad, we built a small workspace into a reference center for musculoskeletal and sports radiology in Slovakia. In 2026, Forbes listed him among the most respected figures in Slovak medicine. He chairs the MSK section of the Slovak Radiological Society and leads the professional and organizational work of our team.
Our team consists of experienced radiologists with European board certifications — besides MUDr. Neuschl, we have MUDr. Péter Bábel as the expert guarantor, MUDr. Alexej Komarov – both top-tier specialists in MSK USG, and MUDr. Jitka Chatrnúchová specializing in breast diagnostics. More colleagues are gradually joining in various sub-specialties. Our standard is to consult every complex finding in detail — not out of formality, but because time, experience, and patience can capture things that are overlooked in routine practice.
Relocation to BBC5
In early June 2026, after five years, we moved from Teslova 33 to a new address — Plynárenská 7/C in the BBC5 complex. Not because we didn’t like the old premises, but because we outgrew them. The new space allows us to run two USG clinics simultaneously, perform various examinations, and have separate preparation for CBCT. For the patient, this means shorter waiting times and a smoother visit.
What we do
CBCT NewTom 7G. In 2026, we installed the first whole-body CBCT in Central Europe. 3D diagnostics of joints, bones, jaws, and sinuses with 90-micrometer resolution and significantly lower radiation dose than conventional CT. Suitable for children and patients with implants.
AGFA DX-D 300 Digital X-ray. Whole-body radiography on a modern digital device — rapid basic diagnostics for musculoskeletal injuries, lungs, and other organs.
Two USG clinics. Sonographic diagnostics of the musculoskeletal system, abdominal organs, breasts, blood vessels, and peripheral nerves. We also consult external radiology findings when you need a second opinion.
Neurology clinic. Back pain, musculoskeletal dysfunctions, and peripheral nerve diseases, with a special focus on neurological issues in athletes and post-injury patients.
Interventional procedures under USG/CBCT navigation. Ozone application for back pain (PRT — periradicular therapy), medication application for tendon and joint diseases. The needle is under imaging control throughout the procedure — targeting accuracy around 95% compared to 60–70% with classic blind application.
